06. How to open a URL when a user clicks the pin?
Here is how you can do this in USA Zoom Map. Here is a step-by-step:
The easiest way is to use the visual WYSIWYG editor.
Open the preview of the map using the locator_start.html file in your purchased zip file. In the preview, scroll down until you see the WYSIWYG map editor.
In the editor zoom to the state you need and click a city pin. You will see its name in a box at the right side of the editor. Now you can specify a URL that should be opened when a user clicks this pin.
Notice that you may use JavaScript code here.
After specifying the URL you need, click the “Update the map” button and then click “Copy XML to clipboard”. This will copy the updated XML code to the clipboard. Open the data.xml in any plain-text editor and paste the code from the clipboard there replacing the existing contents. Save data.xml and upload it back to your website.
