A county map for your next project
Show a service area, organize sales territories, mark places you have visited, or create a classroom handout.
- Choose a color and paint counties
Click or tap on the map. Use the mouse wheel or +/− buttons to zoom, drag to reach smaller areas, or search by county name and state.
- Add meaning to your colors
Give each color a label, such as “Service area” or “Visited”. Add an optional title.
- Download your PNG
Save the full map with your colors, title, and optional legend. Export always includes the whole map, even when you are zoomed in.
Is this map maker free?
Yes. Color counties and download a 2400-pixel-wide PNG without creating an account. The image includes a small “Created on Fla-shop.com” credit.
How do I find a county?
Search by name, add a state abbreviation to narrow the results, or enter a five-digit county FIPS code. Choose a result to locate it on the map, then select Apply color. Or choose a state and county from the dropdowns. Search covers all states and updates both dropdowns when you choose a result.
How do I use the CSV or settings.js export?
Import the semicolon-delimited CSV in the Tools tab of the Fla-shop US Counties Map WordPress plugin. For the JS/CSS map, use the downloaded settings.js in your map package. Both exports include every county and its current color; PNG title and legend labels are not included.
Can I undo a change?
Use Undo and Redo above the map. Clear map removes all county colors; you can undo this too. The eraser removes the color from an individual county.
Will my work be saved?
Your map is edited and exported in your browser. This tool does not save projects; download your PNG before leaving or reloading the page. A PNG is an image and cannot be loaded back into this editor.
What does an uncolored county mean?
Light gray counties have not been assigned a color. Colors and labels are chosen by you; they do not represent automatically calculated statistics. The map uses the county boundaries included in the supplied Fla-shop map, including county equivalents.
